Multisport & More Starts Nov. 5
As teams wind down their fall outdoor seasons this week, we're excited to announce the off-season multisport clinics and more opportunities for Meta players starting Monday, Nov. 5 and going through the end of the year.
You may already have seen these unique opportunities on your SportsEngine calendar. Here are more details on what to expect:
Club V volleyball trainers will take players through the basic concepts and techniques of the game including hitting, passing and positioning. Players also will get to try out volleyball through pickup games. (Volleyball is one of the more popular multisport activities for Meta players!)
Aaron Dotson, former University of Utah player and current professional trainer/coach, has joined us again this year to help Meta players build their ball skills and run pickup games.
It's like indoor street ball on steroids! Free play is essential in player development - and they love it!
Club founder and personal trainer, Britain Thomas, will run these strength and coordination clinics to help players achieve more agility and finesse on the field. Plus - the activities are a blast!
This stands for Speed, Agility and Quickness. In these clinics, Meta coach Kacie Moore (a track coach at Viewmont HS) will build on the sessions she conducted this past summer helping players learn the art and practice of efficient running.
Who Can Attend the Clinics?
All MetaSport Players 9U and up may attend. The clinics do not cost any extra as they are included in your club fees.
Is Attendance Mandatory?
No. These training are optional for Meta players, but we do encourage participation on any level. That said, if your player needs a break or is playing another sport during this time, no problem! Just keep your coach in the loop.
What About Older Players?
Older teams (high school age) will focus on performance training, defined by speed and agility, strength and conditioning and injury risk reduction. Opt-in sessions are offered during this time period. Britain Thomas is coordinating these sessions and you will be notified of the offering dates/times.
What About PlayOn Series Players (6U-8U)?
Meta offers special Winter Training opportunities for our PlayOn kids and kids who are 6U. Go here to register >>
What is the Multisport Schedule?
Your SportsEngine team calendar will have the day and time for your player's age group clinics/trainings. If you have questions, reach out at email@example.com.
What About Team Indoor Training?
Beginning the first week of January 2019 through mid-March, Mondays through Thursdays are futsal trainings with designated days/times for each team. These are your team's scheduled weekly trainings with required attendance. Your team's days/times are already scheduled on your SportsEngine calendar.
