MetaSport Policies

we're all in, are you!

Normally, this is the spot you might see lots of pages describing the club's expectations of its member athletes and parents. Sure, for club stability and team fairness, we outline below some basic principles for training and game attendance, as well as the understanding of the financial commitment.

But we don't want to suck all the fun out of this great adventure with thousands of words that take up space and do little to build a strong community and create stellar players and teams.

At Meta, we encourage our players to exhibit and learn Respect, Enthusiasm, Technique and Soccer Intelligence. We’re excited to train and develop players who want to learn and demonstrate respect for coaches, staff, parents, referees ... and the opposing team.

We hope to attract parents who support their player's individual development within a team structure and who display mutual respect for the coaching staff and referees.

We're all in this together, so why not make it a great experience and help our kids - and their teammates - be the best they can be?

Parent & Player time Commitment

We highly emphasize the importance of each player's role within a team. If some aren't ready to commit to consistent trainings and game play, we can't build a great team and that's just not fair for the players and parents who did sign up to give it their all.

  • Fall and spring, 85-100% attendance at trainings and games
  • Winter and summer, 75-100% attendance at trainings and games

tournament commitment

Depending on the age group, teams may participate in 1 - 4 or 5 tournaments a year. After spring tryouts and once a player is offered a position on a team, we ask families to commit to attending the team's designated tournaments.

Each team member is responsible - regardless of whether they can participate - for paying for their portion of a tournament registration, which can cost between $40 and $85 per player.

PAYMENT POLICIES

Upon registration and commitment to a team, players are financially responsible for all club fees as stated for the entire playing year. Team fees are non-refundable. Payment is due when registering with UYSA/Affinity and MetaSport FC. We encourage full payment for all clubs fees and training, however payment plans are available for tuition (coaching fees); extended deadline for technical training; and indoor training. If payments are more than one month late, they may incur a late fee.

Note: If payment to UYSA/Affinity is more than 30 days past due, it will result in UYSA removing the player from the team roster.

For help with Affinity, email MetaSport Admin Michelle Wixom.

REFUNDS & TRANSFERRING/LEAVING THE CLUB

Players must be current on all club and team fees at the time of the transfer/leave request. Players with a season ending injury may be eligible for a refund or credit with the amount to be determined on a case-by-case basis when that request (with doctor’s note) is made during the course of the season. Players moving more than 50 miles during the season are eligible for a refund with the amount to be determined. Requests for releases and withdrawals must be presented in writing to MetaSport’s Technical Director, Britain Thomas.

UNIFORMS/KITS

All players are required to purchase uniforms and training apparel every two years, per their teams’ purchasing schedule and kit requirements.
